The First Step in Safeguarding Your Vision

At Henderson Vision Centre, we are dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible vision you can. Eye exams are among the most important things to help maintain and protect your eyesight and ocular health.

Many eye diseases that can threaten your vision begin asymptomatically. Without professional intervention and testing, you may not notice a severe eye condition until it’s caused irreversible damage.

What Our Exams Include

When you visit us for an eye exam, you can expect friendly service and attentive care. We put your needs first so you can feel confident that your eyes will be appropriately taken care of.

Most patients report our comprehensive eye exams as efficient and generally painless. We use non-invasive diagnostic tools to keep you comfortable while we assess your ocular health.

Your appointment will begin with preliminary testing, which provides us with necessary information about your eyes and their health. The initial tests include:

After the preliminary tests, you will meet with one of our optometrists to discuss your results and perform some manual exams. During this time, you can ask any questions you may have to ensure you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about your eyes, health, and vision.

Some manual tests your optometrist will perform:

When Do I Need an Eye Exam?

Visiting your optometrist regularly helps us monitor any changes to your health and vision and make appropriate recommendations for treatment programs when necessary. The Manitoba Association of Optometrists recommends adults between the ages of 19 and 65 visit their eye health professional at least every two years.

Adults over the age of 65 should visit their optometrist annually. The risk of developing vision-threatening conditions increases significantly with age, so having your optometrist evaluate your health can help preserve your health and vision as long as possible.

At Henderson Vision Centre, we are dedicated to providing you with top-quality care and friendly service to ensure your health and vision are cared for.
