As things are changing rapidly with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented the following policies effective immediately:
Our office will be closed to all but pre-arranged emergency appointments starting Saturday, March 21.
We have cancelled all routine eye examinations until mid-April. Our office will be contacting you to reschedule your appointment. We are currently tentatively rescheduling appointments after April 13.
We are available to help all established patients who are experiencing an eye emergency or problem. These may include:
Please contact our office by phone at 204-582-2308. We will be checking messages routinely Monday to Friday and your call will be returned as it is triaged. Depending on the situation, we may consult with you over the phone. We may also see you in the office or arrange for you to see the ophthalmologist on call. Misericordia Health Centre is open for eye emergencies after hours.
Friday, March 20, 2020, will be the last day that our office is open. Please try to arrange to pick up your glasses and contacts that are ready for pick up. Please note that due to the close nature of adjusting frames, we will not be doing adjustments at this time.
If you are running low on contact lenses, in most cases we can provide an extension that can be shipped to your home. Please call and leave a message to arrange this.
Social distancing and avoiding crowds and activities outside the home are the best way to slow the spread of COVID-19. If you have symptoms such as cough, fever or respiratory difficulties please contact Health Links at 204-788-8200.
We wish you and your loved ones continued good health,
Your HVC Team
Founded by Dr. Marlene Reiss and Dr. Stewart Code in 1979, Henderson Vision Centre is a full-scope Optometry practice and dispensary. From comprehensive eye exams, to more specialized services, such as dry eye therapy, you can trust our caring Optometrists and support staff with your eye health.
We have made investments in both advanced equipment and training to ensure that we offer Winnipeg the best care possible. These investments empower us to detect developing eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma, earlier and with greater accuracy.
In addition to the latest diagnostic and imaging equipment available, we also carry a diverse range of contact lenses, from daily disposables, to toric for astigmatism and multifocal or progressive contact lenses.
One in five Canadians has dry eye. Our dry eye clinic is equipped with everything needed to diagnose, evaluate, and treat dry eye. Our Optometrists are well-versed in dry eye and will help you find relief from your symptoms.
